------Quick overview-----
Who will like this product? Those who enjoy...
- Mild water-based lubricants.
- Organic and vegan products.
Pros:
- Organic / vegan formula
- Safe for use with condoms / sex toys
- Pleasant scent and no noticeable flavor
Cons:
- Gets tacky as it dries
- Breaks down quickly under pressure
Now let's get into the nitty gritty...
Materials & Workmanship (5/6 pearls): The Sliquid Organics is a water-based lube, which makes it safe for use with condoms and toys. It's also made with all-organic and all-vegan materials. Which is nice if that appeals to you on a philosophical level, but also a potential selling point for those of you who might have sensitivities to glycerin or other components of traditional lubes. Reassuring for those of you (like me) who have ever gotten lube in your eye. But that's a whole 'nother story...
Aesthetic Appeal (3/6 pearls): The packaging is fairly ordinary. Just a simple plastic bottle with a simple flip top. No fancy applicators, no cool materials. But it's elegant enough, and discreet, and not screaming neon pink or anything...
Features (2/6 pearls): Well... It goes on feeling really quite nice. But unfortunately, it doesn't last very long. It dries out very quickly, and when it does, it gets quite tacky. Bad news.
Fun (2/6 pearls): We first tried this together, only to encounter the tackiness issue mentioned above. Which, obviously, hurts more than it helps when the goal is to make things slippery. We found that reapplying, or a bit of additional moisture loosened things back up nicely, but that's a bit of a pain. In the interest of science, I gave it a shot again solo. At first? Nice. Then? Sticky. I finally got so fed up with dunking my hand in the sink that I just washed the stuff off and finished without it. Which is not high praise I'm afraid.
"Mystery Category" (5/5 pearls): Despite its shortcomings, the stuff smells great. Subtle, faintly herbal, kind of vaguely lavendery and I don't know quite what, without ever really making its presence too known. And it tastes like nothing at all. I literally licked it off my hand, and nothing. Tasted like water. Which is a pleasant change from the norm.
