I've never been much for late night television and I'm certainly not a huge David Letterman fan. (I'd rather wait up for Craig Ferguson.) However, when I heard that our favorite toy shop, EdenFantasys, earned the "O" Award (which is a prestigious award given out by AVN) for Outstanding Online Retailer, I knew a "Top Ten List" alla late night television would be the perfect way to list our reasons for promoting this site.


A little disclaimer: Yes, EdenFantasys approached us with the idea to celebrate the achievement. Yes, they will give us a small compensation for writing and posting this blog. However, the compensation is not nearly enough that I would give my thumbs up to any old sex toy retailer. I truly do love this company for all the reasons below.

We would be remiss if we didn't mention Kayla, the blogger relations coordinator. She brought us into reviewing and has been so kind and helpful as we learned the ropes. She goes out of her way to guide us and gives a great impression regarding the rest of the company.

Reviews are invaluable when considering the purchase of say...an Njoy 11...or any other pricey toy that may be unlike something we already have in our suitcase. Although we may eventually come to disagree with the opinions (every body is different), we love being able to rely on consistent reviewers. When we get a sense for what they like, we can better understand if this toy they have reviewed will also work for us.

This may seem a little obvious, but it must be said that the array of products available is quite extensive. It feels as if there is at least one thing for everyone. (And probably many MANY more.) The best part is they are consistently adding to it and though I don't have proof of this, I assume they take into consideration what the community would like to see being sold.

Wow, the last couple posts here have been all reviews. What a sad turn for us here at 29-Pearls. I'm currently pondering a sexy post to publish, but in general our fun has been few and far between. When we ARE together it's kinda mundane, lovey, "old married couple" type stuff with the added fun of trying out new toys. Thank God for toy reviewing! Review 6: Tenga Egg Twister by Tenga

Now let's get into the nitty gritty...

Materials & Workmanship (4 pearls): The Tenga Egg line totes a variety of textures in an easily portable little egg shaped case. The toy itself is silicone and very supple. The Twister is ribbed on the inside with little wave like squiggles.   It seems rather flimsy overall and being a one time use toy, we didn't expect it to last long. Sadly, it barely made it through it's one time use before it started to show wear in the form of a hole at the top where Daniel began to poke through as I thrust it over him. 


Aesthetic Appeal (5 pearls):  I must say that I really love the novelty of the Tenga Egg line. The shape is cute and inviting. I really did just want to pick it up and play with it. The white outer case would easily pass as a real egg and hey, if you're into temperature play, perhaps sticking it next to the dozen you got from the grocer might make this toy even more interesting. All in all the Tenga Twist is pretty simple. Cute packaging and pretty self explanatory. (Peel off outer wrapper, apply included lube, and go to town.) 




Features (4  pearls): I suppose the features revolve around it's discreet, simple packaging. The included lube makes this toy quick and easy to use and store, yet by virtue of the fact that it's "manual" there's not much to it. To be honest, I don't think Daniel was that impressed with the Twister wave texture. Although he was eventually able to climax with it, it just didn't do much for him.  [It was nice!  'Nice' though.  Not 'mindblowing'... -d.]
 
Fun (3  pearls): Daniel and I went back and forth with the Tenga Egg. He let me take the first test drive. As I slipped the little egg over the head of his cock I was a little dismayed. It barely covered the head and twisting it left and right didn't do much to stimulate him. [It felt really good.  Just wasn't EVER gonna get me there that way.  Your mileage may vary etc etc...  -d.]  Eventually I discovered how stretchy it really is and realized I could use it to stroke him from top to bottom. I love watching his cock disappear into a toy like this. Sometimes I really wish I had a cock of my own to play with. Thankfully Daniel lets me borrow his. All in all I was turned on using this toy on Daniel. I eventually let him take over and I paid copious attention to his balls as he used the egg to finish. [And THAT was fun.  :-)  -d.]  Although it was fun, I don't think it is a toy that we would invest in regularly, if ever. The price just doesn't fit for what little it did for us. (Not that it's all that expensive at $9.99, but we feel a hand works just as nicely for free.) 


"Mystery Category" (4 pearls): I'd like to give the Tenga Egg a couple extra points for cuteness, ease of use, discretion, and included lube. The tenga line is one stop shopping at it's finest!

Now let's get into the nitty gritty...

Materials & Workmanship (4/6 pearls): Made of jelly looking soft TPE plastic, the Royal butterfly does not resemble high quality silicone toys like the Vanity. It looks and feels cheap to me, though it is regularly priced on the site as $89.95 (on sale currently for $35.98). I doubt it will last us 100 years, but it seems heavy duty enough to last a while.

Aesthetic Appeal (2/6  pearls): Unfortunately, being a sucker for a "pretty" toy, the Butterfly does not meet my criteria. Its garish, transparent, hot pink plastic allows you to see all the inner mechanics like the rotating tip, shaft pearls, and every other electronic aspect.  The size is a bit daunting to look at, though you may have noticed I mentioned this as a pro. It is HUGE, but feels SO good. The packaging also looks cheap. It comes in a basic cardboard box that you'd see hanging in the XXX store in the seedy part of town. It does not try to hide the "novelty" it is providing. It is definitely a toy you'd want to hide at the bottom of your sock drawer. It has a slight plastic odor that I hope will dissipate after a while.

Features (5/6 pearls):  As I mentioned above, it is ridiculously large:

It is 10.5 inches long with 6.5 insertable inches and 1.5 diameter. The tip of the insertable bit rotates in a delicious unison with the shaft pearls. It strokes the g spot terrifically and has the add bonus of reversing direction at the push of a button. Working in tandem with the ADJUSTABLE clit extension it is sure to get anyone off. This feature is what drew me to the toy in the first place. I have been trying to find a dual stimulation toy that suits my body. The versatility of the bendable clit arm not only allows direct stimulation in the place I want it (which may be different from where YOU want it) but it remains there until we decide to move it. That said, my one complaint about the clit arm is the shape of the butterfly. It is quite large in keeping with the theme of the insertable end and though this balances the look of the toy overall, I found the wings of the butterfly to inhibit my ability to keep the clit simulator in the right place. I am actually considering cutting them off. The motor is strong, though the vibrations alone are rather buzzy. It is when you add in the rotation aspect that it feels most boomy and intense. The best part is that you can control each of the features separately - 3 levels of vibration, 3 levels of rotation speed, plus the reverse direction button. This makes for a good many combinations. It requires 3 AA batteries which I thought was a bit odd. The Battery pack slides out and I almost didn't notice it needed 3 not 2 batteries. Thankfully we had bought a 4 pack when we tried it out.

Fun (5/6 pearls):  Above all, this toy delivers. Daniel and I tried it out the first time together. I wanted to give him a little show, so I thought to use it for his visual pleasure. Thankfully he didn't want to sit idly by and helped upon my request that he thrust it and work the controls as I ensured the butterfly did it's job on my clit. I was completely filled and overwhelmed by the intensity of sensations. The little surprise reverse action worked perfectly and sent me, screaming, over the edge. Although I do not think I would consider purchasing the Royal Butterfly at it's actual price, the sale price is TOTALLY worth it. I am certain this toy will get a work out in the coming months. I'll be sure to let you know how it holds up!

"Mystery Category" (1/5 pearls):   I think the funniest part about this toy is the awful eye-rolling name on the package. The folks at MyPleasure have tried to class it up a bit by calling it the Royal Butterfly (as the clit extension is in the shape of a butterfly).  But somehow the "Bendi Clitifier: Exotic Butterfly Arouser" doesn't quite evoke the same mystery and majesty that the MyPleasure name provides.
